Mastery Leadership Sessions was founded in 2016 by a small group of organizational psychologists and former executives who shared a frustration: too many leadership development programs were long on theory and short on practical impact. They saw brilliant managers attend week-long retreats only to return to their desks and revert to old habits within a month.
Determined to break that cycle, the founding team designed a new kind of leadership workshop — one rooted in behavioural science, anchored in real workplace scenarios, and structured around deliberate practice rather than passive listening. The first pilot program ran in a converted loft space in Gatineau with twelve participants from three different companies. Within ninety days, every single participant reported measurable improvements in team engagement and personal effectiveness.
Word spread quickly. By 2018, the practice had expanded to serve clients across Quebec, Ontario, and the Atlantic provinces. Today, our team of fourteen facilitators delivers leadership workshops to organizations of every size — from ten-person startups to federal agencies with thousands of employees — in both official languages and increasingly in international markets.
Despite that growth, our core philosophy has never changed: leadership is a practice, not a title, and the best workshops leave participants with habits they can sustain long after the session ends.
